Q: I don’t currently have alcohol-related problems but I used to- can I take part?
A: Yes. We want to speak to a wide range of people with different experiences.

A: Yes. We want to speak to a wide range of people with different experiences.
Q: I know someone who drinks. Can I sign them up for the study?
A: People must decide to participate in the study themselves. However, you can show them the study information and they can get in touch if they wish to take part. You could also take part in the study yourself as we would like to hear your views as a friend, family, or community member.
Q: Why do you want to speak with faith leaders?
A: Previous research has shown that collaboration with key figures within communities can help improve the design, delivery and uptake of health interventions. They are also likely to have unique insights into how COVID-19 has impacted on alcohol related issues. We are consulting faith leaders that work with British South Asian communities to gather important perspectives and suggestions for alcohol support.
Q: Why do you want to speak with health professionals?

Health professionals are in a position to offer unique insights into how COVID-19 has impacted on alcohol related issues.
Q: Can I get the study materials in a different language?
A:We can offer the study materials in a variety of languages. Use the “contact us” header at the top of the website to request this and we will help you.
Q: I’m worried about taking part in an interview during COVID-19. How will we make sure it’s safe?
A: We understand that you may have concerns about how COVID regulations may affect a research interview. We will work with you to make sure you are comfortable with the interview time and method. For example, if you live in a shared home we can arrange a private time that works best for you.
Q: Will what I say be confidential?
A: Yes, everything you discuss will be strictly confidential.
